Perimeter Drainage
Perimeter drainage systems use perforated piping (commonly known as drain tile) installed around the perimeter of your home. This redirects surface water and ground water away from your home’s foundation and channels it into the municipal drainage system. Even with a good filter layer, the perimeter drainage can still clog with sediment over time, while roots from trees and shrubs can also compromise the system’s effectiveness. These factors can lead to water build-up and seepage into your basement, or problems with your home’s foundation – especially with older homes.
